neal oa is at home and recovering. his father says he plans to be back to college park as soon as possible. >> we are thankful he survived. >> oa was shot in the leg by his housemates yesterday morning. he and his remains were weakened by a small fire. they went out together to douse the flames. greene opened fire. -- green opened fire. >> just had a sense that something was not right. just decided i have to go, have to run. >> oa did not know until much later that green killed stephen rane for turning the gun on

herself and killing himself. police tell us he was diagnosed schizophrenic who had gone off his medications. we know he purchased two seven not a -- semiautomatic handguns. merz says the handguns they knew about but not the mental illness. >> we asked him about the debate about gun control and the mentally ill. he said their family even after all of this is not necessarily in favor of more gun control. crime scene investigators were just back of the house a little while ago. they said they were looking for any evidence they might possibly have missed. high-ranking police sources telling us they still have no idea what made him snap. >> this latest tragedy comes as mayor the lawmakers debate new

gun-control measures including limiting access to firearms with those -- for those of mental illnesses. this would limit those who have a mental lists and deemed it danger to other to be limited to fire arms. >> while the debate over guns in america capture the emotion of the state of the union address today it is one of the president's economic proposals getting the most attention. that is the call to raise the minimum wage to $9 per hour. we talk to people on both sides of the issue. >> certainly an issue that is divided on both sides. on one side small business owners are worried about paying employees more in wage compression from the bottom up. on the other side, those working for minimum wage that would welcome more money. minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. when you go across the river into washington, d.c., the minimum is $8.25.

a woman who used to live in this old house stroke there were hurt old neighborhood today. >> i wanted to see my old house. >> witnesses say they csaw a car take off down the block right after the shooting which has investigators tried to determine whether they had accomplices. investigators were trying to locate the deputy service weapon. >> thank you. d.c. police are stepping up patrols after a woman said she was sexually assaulted in northeast washington. a man with a gun attack her as she was walking in the 4400 block of gault place. he forced her behind a home sexually assaulted her before fleeing on a bike. >> d.c. police are investigating a deadly pedestrian accident that happened a little before 5:00 this morning.

investigators say a man was hit with crossing kendall street in northeast. the drivers did on the scene and cooperated with police. police of are released the victim identity at this time. >> just months after the express lanes open if there is an idea being floated to add similar lines to the fairfax county parkway. as you would expect, not everyone is on board with this. jeff goldberg is in springfield now with the plan and reaction as well. >> the fairfax county parkway is often called a manager beltway a major thoroughfare that carries up to 80,000 vehicles per day. but whether or not the hall lanot lanes is the answer is far from a done deal. your i-66 at rush hour, the complaints pileup as fast as the traffic.

elizabeth allen liked the idea of adding these leads to the parkway, similar to those already on order 95 in virginia. >> i see it would make sense. a lot of people travel the parkways. >> it does not make a lot of sense to me. i know it is a well-travelled roadway, but it does not make a lot of sense to me personally. >> i did not think so. it is like the 95 away. >> fairfax county supervisor is asking vdot to study the possibility of widening the parkway to three lanes to possibly add hot lanes or hov lanes. >> hot lanes would be one alternative we're looking at. they provide congestion relief. that is really what we're looking for. >> this chair person is not in

>> investigators have determined a kerosene heater caused the house fire in charles county. it happened overnight. geraldine's kleykey died and so did the family dog. >> we're learning more about the manhunt that appears to have been brought to an end -- for an accused cop killer. take a police to believe the manhunt for the alleged cop killer is likely over. a body in the cabin where chris dorner was held up is believed to be the suspect. >> this is where the 10-year reign of terror and massive manhunt for the ex-police officer, chris dorner, came to an end. authorities believe the charred

body in a burned out cabin is that of the suspect involved in at least four murders two of them police officers. detectives are waiting for forensics to determine the identity. >> has been a very trying time for all of those involved. >> the search escalated yesterday. there were reports he was cited. then gunfire. two women reported being tied up in being held hostage in the cabin not too far for were the burned out truck was found. another man says he was carjacked by dorner. >> he was dressed up to do damage it look like. within about 10 seconds i heard gunfire. >> two deputies were sought -- shot by the suspect and then killed. in riverside calif., today a farewell for officer michael greene.

dorner is accused of gunning in doubt last thursday. >> every day got better. every day we renewed our love, and i knew how much he loved me. >> he was a husband and father of two. so far authorities have not released the name or any of the information about the deputies killed in the standoff. >> the prince george's county fire arm -- firefighter who lost his arm is now recovering from another round of surgery. he had to have another skin grafts this morning. the one he had on sunday did not take. doctors say he was recovering from the original surgery. his fellow firefighters have been there by his side all the way working to cheer him up. still wishing him the best. >> we said from the beginning he is at the right hospital, because they're experts there.

-- 39 degrees in woodbridge. no supply of cold air to be drawn into the developing storm to cause any issues. mostly what we have is rain. then the whole system will slide off to the east tonight. we will see development off the southeastern virginia coastline. at that point of more uniform drop in temperatures than the areas of rain may become area of snow. but the air temperatures. slowly dropping to the upper 30's. there is no cool air to poland. 38 in detroit. 34 decrease in the upper peninsula. no cold air to tap into. and i do not think for the majority of the area east of blue ridge will be much of an issue. maybe a little snow. here is a little better view for you for what we're dealing with.

off the coast is where the major action will be. before the storm really develops, it will be far enough away will not have any effect. tomorrow 50 degrees with sunshine. into the fifties by friday. high pressure builds in briefly tomorrow. late saturday night a strong cold front comes in. a dramatic change in temperatures over the weekend. late friday night we could see if you rainshowers accompanied the front. we're talking about highs only in the 30's over the weekend. the rain may mix with the chance of snow in many areas but minimal impact in the area. 29-35 degrees. lots of sunshine tomorrow. average height is 47. the next seven-days will be nice.

victims of sexual harassment, yet very few are still coming forward. >> it is the most underreported crime in the united states. >> sexual harassment is the problem. despite the campaign, it is still difficult to give victims to report incidents like unnecessary touching or rubbing. >> do you always feel safe? >> not always, especially when i ride alone at night. >> the metro launched a web portal encouraging victims to file reports with police. according to a new report coming up thursday, 99 riders filed complaints. 22 resulted in formal police reports. of those only one led to water rest. -- led to an arrest. >> we still do good people
